Attorney Laura M. Marlin has more than 20 years' experience as an attorney in both the public and private sectors. She has been in private practice since 2014, focusing on estate planning, employment law, business formation and real estate.
Attorney Marlin started her career in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office where she prosecuted fraud, embezzlement, computer crime, and tax cases. She also served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Attorney General.
In 2007, Attorney Marlin was appointed Commissioner of the Division of Occupational Safety (since renamed the Department of Labor Standards). In that capacity, she oversaw the state's minimum wage and prevailing wage laws, regulated temporary employment agencies and asbestos and lead contractors, and protected workers' occupational safety and health.
Attorney Marlin also served as the First Deputy Auditor, managing the State's Constitutional Office responsible for auditing all agencies of state government, investigating public assistance fraud and evaluating state laws to determine if they impose unfunded mandates on cities and towns.
Laura Marlin is a 1996 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts.
